MAKE HOUSE QUEER AGAIN is a love letter to the roots of house music, a genre birthed by Black queer pioneers like Frankie Knuckles at Chicago’s legendary Warehouse, where sound became sanctuary and dancefloors united people from every walk of life. Dance music culture owes a profound debt to visionaries such as Frankie Knuckles and Larry Levan, whose artistry built the foundations of the global house movement. Over time, this radical, liberating culture has had its queered history buried by the heteronormative mainstream, yet its heartbeat has always been queer, Black, and deeply communal.

House Ur Head reclaims that lineage by celebrating the vibrant frequency of queer children on the dancefloor, creating space for visibility, self-discovery and release while using Make House Queer Again as a call to action to honour and keep that history alive. More than a club night, it is a sanctuary and a community, built with care and intention, a reminder that house music was, and will always be, about love, freedom and chosen family.

Amanda Keisha Ang, known as AKA Sounds, is a Singaporean DJ, music curator, and advocate for inclusivity in the electronic music scene. With a signature sound that blends house, hip-hop, and experimental beats, she has become a key figure in Southeast Asia’s underground music movement.

A regular at clubs, festivals, and art spaces across the region, Amanda’s sets are deeply rooted in community and cultural storytelling. A co-founder of Singaporean art collective ATTAGIRL!, her work also spans beyond DJing, where she conducts music workshops, participates in discussion panels on work and diversity, and contributes to curation artist planning for commercial engagements and institutions. Over the decade, she’s also worked with multiple lifestyle and luxury brands, such as Nike, Tudor, Leica, New Balance, Dior, Valentino, Gucci, Cartier etc.

In 2024, she made her Boiler Room debut in Singapore (while 5 months pregnant!), where she championed women and queer producers from the Asia-Pacific. Now based in Japan, she continues to push musical boundaries while fostering representation in the industry.

Bobby Obby Obby is a beacon of Singapore’s queer nightlife, a dancefloor disruptor serving beats, beauty, and bedlam since the city’s early underground club days. From designing legendary sets at Zouk in the 90s to co-founding the iconic Butter Factory (now defunct), he helped shape a generation of misfits, club kids, and rebels, laying the foundations for today’s underground culture.

Beyond the floor, his creative spark lit up fashion and styling. He even dressed Lady Gaga during her Bad Romance era, a piece later immortalised in Madame Tussauds.

Now the fairy club mother of beloved party brands, Bobby flies the freak flag with Baby Boy (hip hop and R&B queer explosion), Cvntessa (cunty house, jersey club, vogue beats), Yum Yum Disco Dong (disco, nu-disco, house), Mismatch (genre-fluid house and underground dancefloor madness), Miss Homo (techno rave with Fomohomo), and The Glory Hoes (film, pop culture and dance afterparties with Becca D’Bus and Prashant Somosundram). He also champions ballroom culture with Vogue In Progress, curating balls like The Crystal Ball and Pink Kiki Ball.

As a DJ, he has graced stages from Pink Dot to Pink Fest, opening for icons like The Carry Nation and Kiddy Smile, and soundtracking Singapore’s fiercest dancefloors with house, disco, and vogue beats. With every set, Bobby proves the dancefloor is still the fiercest place to be free and that queerness belongs at the centre of the celebration.

LOKIES is the electric spark of Singapore’s queer scene, known for his next-level versatility on the decks. As the resident DJ for Baby Boy, he’s the heartbeat of Singapore’s wildest queer celebrations, commanding the floor with hip-hop and R&B anthems that keep the party iconic month after month. When playing other queer venues and parties, Lokies shifts gears effortlessly, serving infectious house, pulsing techno-house and a spectrum of other genres. Beyond the Lion City, he has lit up club nights in New York, Paris, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, and with Shanghai on the horizon, he’s poised to take his charisma global.

By day he’s a fitness guru; by night, he embodies full-bodied pride, making every beat a moment of unabashed freedom.

But his rise wasn’t built on glitz alone. A decade ago, Lokies shared his coming-out story on Dear Straight People while serving in the SAF’s Music & Drama Company. That moment of fearless honesty became more than a personal milestone, it shone a light of representation for Singapore’s queer community. It is this very visibility, forged through courage and conviction, that makes him such a fierce opener for this edition of House Ur Head.

He moves crowds with more than just music, crafting soundscapes of empowerment, self-expression and undeniable queerness. Wherever he plays, he radiates strength and joy, with each set becoming a celebration of queer visibility.
