Event description

Description

Let’s be real, your 20’s are a complete mess. It’s perfectly okay to feel like you do not have it together now. Take our three speakers for example:

  • Kenneth Lou experienced a setback in his life only to move on to the next big thing - Seedly - a personal finance startup focused on helping users make smarter financial decisions.
  • Mark Tan was jaded with political correctness and the lack of alternative voice in the media space so he founded his own – Rice Media.

  • Pin Goh, head honcho of The Local People, is a pushing force for Singaporean art and culture despite the lack of support. Constantly pushing boundaries, The Local People is now in its fourth year and throwing parties and night markets bigger than ever.

They’ve all gone through the ups and downs of adulthood, and have created something beautiful out of the mess.

Come join us for an intimate evening as our three panelists share their stories and talk about the things school didn't prepare us for. Food and drinks are on us! Registration begins at 7:00pm. Seats are limited, so hurry and RSVP soon.

Special thanks to Spacemob and National Youth Council for making this event possible.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Kenneth Lou is the co-founder of Seedly, and a financial writer. He believes in helping others make smarter financial decisions and gives back to the start-up world by mentoring younger start-up entrepreneurs from tertiary institutions. He is also a contributor on TechInAsia and Thought Catalog, and the Winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2015 by the Small and Medium Business Association (SMBA).

Mark Tan is the founder of Rice, a digital media site that takes unfiltered perspectives on contemporary Asian culture. He also owns and manages Allscript, a magazine distribution company that represents titles such as Vanity Fair, The Economist and Monocle.

Pin Goh is a Cultural Engagement Specialist, with a passion for creating experiences that incubate and inspire ideas for continually expanding the Singaporean cultural identity. She founded The Local People in 2014, taking open approaches to what educational curriculum/structure/environments are expected to look like. Known for their spatial and cultural activation projects, The Local People creates events that are catalysts for community outcomes and social impact. Pin is also featured in the 2017’s Generation T - Singapore Tatler’s list.
