To survive and thrive in this new era, we must constantly learn. Take a deep dive into the brain with Dr Barbara Oakley, author of New York Times best-seller, A Mind for Numbers, as she offers neuroscience-backed advice on tackling daunting subjects across disciplines and tips on beating procrastination, at this session that promises to be equal parts insightful, practical, and humourous.

About the Future of Learning (FOL)

The Future of Learning is an annual event featuring inspiring local and international speakers, happening on 7, 8 and 14 Aug. The objectives of FOL are to introduce tools and strategies to supercharge our learning, enabling us to learn better, faster, and for longer, and to inspire lifelong learning. This year’s theme is ‘Staying Creative When Life Feels Monotonous’, which spotlights creativity as the essential skill for thriving in the future economy, especially during this pandemic, when our worlds have become smaller, jobs have been redefined, and we have had to learn to pivot to the ‘new normal’.

FOL will explore the theme of creativity through four segments — ‘Learning to Learn’, ‘Connection in Disconnection’, ‘Serious Fun’ and ‘Arts/Lifestyle’, through a total of 13 programmes. This is the inaugural year for FOL, and it is aligned with the SkillsFuture Month.
