<H2>IB Java Tutoring Year 11 - Weekly Course</H2>
ACADEMICS PROGRAMME
Prerequisites:

No prior coding experience necessary

Suitable for students in: International Baccalaureate (IB)

</UL>
The weekly Java tutoring programme primarily caters to students doing <A HREF="https://www.ibo.org/programmes/diploma-programme/curriculum/sciences/computer-science/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">IB Computer Science SL/HL</A>. Weekly tutoring classes might differ in format from week to week, depending on the current needs of students and will include:

Lessons covering the concepts from the IB Curriculum (separate classes for SL and HL)
</LI>
<LI>
Exam clinics
</LI>
<LI>
Ideation, System Design and Technical consulting for the Internal Assessment (IA) component of the IB
</LI>
<LI>
Worked problem solving sessions 
</LI>
</OL>
The Academics Programme aims to instil in students a mastery of the theory and concepts needed to achieve success in the study of Computer Science at high school, and features a targeted treatment of the Java programming skills needed to meet the practical assessment criteria of the IB and AP curricula. In contrast, our Principles programme is exploratory by design and leads to more general and broad-ranging software development skills in Python and JavaScript.
 
Course Schedule
Lessons will run on Thursdays from January to May, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, at our Bukit Timah Campus (#02-01A King's Arcade)
* IN THE EVENT OF 1 STUDENT, LESSON DURATION WILL BE REDUCED BY 25% TO 1.5 HOURS*
<OL>
<LI>There is no longer a minimum class size for group classes.</LI>
<LI>A group class with 2 or more students proceeds at the group class rates ($55/hr in this case), for a lesson duration of 2 hours. </LI>
<LI>A group class with 1 student will see a reduction in hours by 25%, but the lessons will proceed with no refund in price. Mathematically, the student always pays a rate that is lower than our private class rate ($73.3/hr vs $120/hr in this case)</LI>
