IB Java Tutoring Year 11 HL - Weekly Course

ACADEMICS PROGRAMME

Prerequisites:

• No prior coding experience necessary

• Suitable for students in: International Baccalaureate (IB)

The weekly Java tutoring programme primarily caters to students doing IB Computer Science SL/HL. Weekly tutoring classes might differ in format from week to week, depending on the current needs of students and will include:

1. Lessons covering the concepts from the IB Curriculum (separate classes for SL and HL)

2. Exam clinics

3. Ideation, System Design and Technical consulting for the Internal Assessment (IA) component of the IB

4. Worked problem solving sessions

The Academics Programme aims to instil in students a mastery of the theory and concepts needed to achieve success in the study of Computer Science at high school, and features a targeted treatment of the Java programming skills needed to meet the practical assessment criteria of the IB and AP curricula. In contrast, our Principles programme is exploratory by design and leads to more general and broad-ranging software development skills in Python and JavaScript.

Course Schedule

Lessons will run on Tuesdays from Mar to May, 5:00pm - 6:30pm, at our Marine Parade Campus (#03-04 Parkway Centre)
