About This Event:
Storymorph was a four-part screenwriting programme that ran from April- August 2025, aiding aspiring screenwriters to develop their very own short film manuscript inspired by local translated Tamil short stories. Participants were exposed to a wide canon of local Tamil short stories, and eventually selected one story each, to serve as a catalyst for adaptation, inspiration or response.
In this showcase, the STORYMORPH© participants will be revealing and presenting their resulting manuscripts of the incubation programme, sharing more about their creative process, and what they learnt on their journey immersing themselves in Singaporean Tamil literature and film.
Note: This showcase programme will be conducted in English. Registration does not ensure a seat. We appeal to attendees requiring a seat to arrive 10 mins before the programme commences to secure yourself a seat. Thank you.

The programme ends with a presentation by the participants.STORYMORPH© is a 4-part incubation programme, where participants will draw inspiration from a selection of Tamil short stories (that are translated into English), to create an original screenplay that has the potential to be made into a short film. Participants are to choose ANY 1 short story from the published and translated works and use it as a catalyst to develop and extend the story further, using their own creativity. Using the character(s) from the chosen translated short story, participants are to come up with their first draft of the screenplay. Participants will be groomed in areas of understanding stories, characters, settings and the messages behind the stories.
So, this presentation is a showcase of their exciting and meaningful, creative journey in screenwriting using local Tamil short stories as a base.
