A full-day bootcamp for students who are looking to kickstart their invention journey and apply to the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors Award. Participants come with a broad problem or area of interest, and the bootcamp helps them develop it into a validated concept with a prototype.
What you will experience through this bootcamp:
a) Empathy & Problem Understanding: Students investigate the real human problem behind their idea. They build empathy with users through several activities, then redefine their problem with sharper scope and impact.
b) Ideation Machine: Students move beyond the first obvious solution. Through guided ideation activities, they generate a wide solution space and then critically evaluate and select the most promising approach.
c) Rapid Prototyping & Iteration: Students bring their idea to life using Vivita's makerspace tools — from low-fi cardboard models to digital fabrication. Prototypes are tested with peers and refined through feedback.
This bootcamp was developed by Vivita Singapore and officially supported by Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award 2026.
