About this event
Join AWARE Singapore this IDEVAW to transform understanding into action.
IDEVAW is the United Nations' day to galvanize global action to eliminate violence against women and girls.
While it is a global day of observance, the fight to end violence against women is local. It happens in our communities, our courts, and our homes.
AWARE is convening this conference to transform this global mandate into local action. We are creating a crucial platform to influence policymakers, showcase cutting-edge research and innovations, and foster the collaborations necessary for true, trauma-informed systemic change.
This is more than a conference; it's a catalyst.

Afternoon Keynote Highlight
Dr. Emma Katz, world-renowned expert on coercive control, will be joining us virtually from the UK.
Dr. Emma Katz is a world-leading expert on coercive control, whose groundbreaking work reveals how perpetrators weaponize systemic discrimination to intensify abuse.
Her insights are critical for understanding and addressing gender-based violence in Singapore's multicultural context, making her an unmissable voice for our mission of driving systemic change.
Dr Katz’s presentation was highly informative and enlightening... I would recommend Dr Katz be approached to facilitate training... as she is clearly very knowledgeable about domestic violence and abuse... and the impact it has on women and children.’
