Frequently asked questions

My child is less than 9 years old / older than 12 years old. Can they attend this event?

Sadly, the activities used during this workshop requires us to set a strict age limit. If your child is 13 years old or older, they might wish to attend our general classes instead! Have a taste at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/322528841447

Can I purchase admission for unsupervised children? (i.e. no parents accompanying their child)

No, we'll need parents to accompany their children for this activity. As we'll explain during the workshop, improv is a collaborative art form that requires people to work together to create stories. As such, this will be a great opportunity for parents to imagine new narratives with their children!

What's 'improv'?

'Improv' (short for 'improvisational theatre & comedy' is a special form of storytelling where no scripts are involved! Rather, the performers must create their narratives on the fly, usually with collaborative input from their audience. That’s why every improv show is unique to each performance!

What's 'The Improv Company'?

Established 2013, The Improv Co. is Singapore’s home of improvisational storytelling. We teach folks on how to embrace the ethos of "Yes, And" both on & off stage. Ultimately, we aim to elevate improv as both a practical approach to creative thinking & as an accessible form of community theatre.
