About Us: What We Do

About Short Film Youth Competition (SFYC) 2024

Dedicated to empowering and enriching the Youth community in Singapore, SFYC seeks to broaden youths’ perspectives on mental health through specially curated filmmaking and mental health workshops.

As part of this competition, MHFFS will feature workshops with industry experts. These workshops aim to empower and equip youth participants with credible information on mental health in Singapore, as well as practical filmmaking tips.

About Mental Health Film Festival Singapore (MHFFS)

MHFFS provides a safe platform for audiences to learn more about different aspects of mental health through a series of films, panel conversations, and workshops. As mental health awareness continues to grow in Singapore, it is also crucial to acknowledge the importance of managing our emotions and discomforts on the subject. Only in doing so can we take meaningful steps to support the mental health of our children, youths, and communities.

About Danspire International

Danspire International was officially set up in 2012 after a four year brew of the concept and name. "Dans" is the Dutch word for dancing and to inspire was the aim. The founder had received dance education and training in The Netherlands and was fascinated with how the Dutch culture had inspired his connection of his body, dance and life on a whole new level.

From the beginning of providing dance experiences as recreation and self-discovery, it has now expanded into experiential design, training and therapy to improve the soma-social (self to people) connection for mental health, ageing and personal excellence.

What can I expect?

In tandem with our SFYC 2024, MHFFS has partnered with Danspire to bring a one-hour therapeutic session on Dance Flow Therapy. Through this workshop, we hope you will harness the power of dance as a medium to understand, gain awareness, learn, communicate and refine the brain-body connections through active participation.

As a charity organisation, we are supported by the generosity of the public. The ten dollar charge is meant to cover administrative fees.

*Please note that photos may be taken during the workshop for publicity purposes. By registering for this event, you hereby consent to having your photo/likeness/recordings posted publicly and on social media.
