Since the dawn of humanity, music has had a unique ability to soothe us. It isn’t just music that offers this auditory consolation. Himalayan Singing Bowls, also known as Tibetan Singing Bowls, are truly unique and highly tangible sound therapy rooted in sound healing philosophy, that must be felt to be understood. This relaxing sound therapy permeates multiple levels of your being, working to reset, recharge, and renew you. This is not simply a 'musical' experience, but one that can give you profound therapeutic effects.

The Himalayan singing bowls are not just limited to meditation but are used for a number of purposes: music therapy, yoga, sound healing, religious services, performances, and even for personal enjoyment. By striking the rim with a padded mallet, it creates a sound that has three harmonics – the first as ‘fundamental frequency’ while the other two are termed as the second and third harmonic.

One can also derive a continuous ‘singing’ sound by rubbing the rim with plastic, wooden, or leather wrapped mallet. The harmonies produced by these bowls, whether antique or new, are so unique and powerful that they have been used all over the world for countless generations.

Explore, learn and discover the ancient art form of healing with the Himalayan Singing Bowls at The 1 Space. In this 3-hour introductory workshop, you will learn the basic skills and techniques to play with the Himalayan Singing Bowls. If you have your own singing bowl (s), you are strongly encouraged to bring it (them) along. You will also be able to experience a sound bath session with at least 14 FULL MOON Himalayan Singing Bowls.
