ISWA Beacon Conference 2020
Event Information
About this Event
The year 2020 had looked like a promising year for growth in the waste industry all around the world. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, every industry has been put to a halt and a new norm is emerging. Though most industries have slowed down, waste generation is still on the rise especially in low-and-middle income countries, in part due to the rise in e-commerce activities, takeaway packages and food waste.
How should we adapt to these changes in terms of collection and disposal? Is the current form of managing waste sustainable? How should we implement successful solutions in our own backyard? Will modern technologies help with efficiency in this time of crisis?
During this first online ISWA Beacon Conference “Waste Management, the New Norm”, we dive into two topics, namely digitalizing the waste sector and Waste to Energy moving forward.
The event is jointly organised between ISWA, WMAM and WMRAS on the 7th and 8th of December 2020.
