This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 64 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Completion of this program does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification.   • Session 1: Introduction to Sexology & Asian Cultural Context (Thurs 5 Mar 2026) 🌏
    This week covers the history and evolution of sexology, foundational theories of human sexuality, and the critical role of sexologists in society. Students will gain a solid understanding of the field, with special emphasis on Asian cultural nuances and sensitivity to social norms and taboos.
  • Session 2: Human Sexual Anatomy and Physiology (Thurs 19 Mar 2026) 🔬
    This week dives into the biological foundations of human sexuality, including detailed study of reproductive anatomy, physiological sexual response, and common variations in sexual function. Students will enhance their ability to discuss anatomy confidently and normalize body diversity for clients.
  • Session 3: Gender Identity, Expression, and Sexual Orientation (Thur, 2 Apr 2026) 🌈
    Students will explore the social and cultural aspects of gender identity, expression, and sexual orientation, including lived experiences of LGBTQ+ communities. The session will highlight the importance of inclusive language and help students develop nuanced understanding to support diverse clients effectively.
  • Session 4: Sexual Health and Wellness (Thurs,16 Apr 2026) 💆‍♀️
    This session focuses on broadening the conception of sexual wellness beyond dysfunction to include pleasure, satisfaction, and whole-person wellness. Students will learn strategies to promote sexual health and pleasure enhancement techniques for themselves and their clients.
  • Session 5: Communication Skills in Sexology (Thurs 30 Apr 2026) 🗣️
    Focusing on sexology-specific micro-skills, this week covers active listening, empathetic responses, managing silences, and nonverbal communication. Students will practice key communication techniques critical for building rapport and facilitating effective sexual health conversations.
  • Session 6: Consent, Boundaries, and Sexual Trauma (Thurs 14 May 2026) 🚫
    Students will explore consent frameworks, boundary-setting, and ethical responses to sexual trauma, including exploitation and abuse. Emphasis is on recognizing trauma disclosures and responding with sensitivity, applying trauma-informed practices in sexology contexts.
  • Session 7: Sexual Fantasies and Introduction to Kink (Thurs 28 May 2026) 💭
    This week normalizes the exploration of sexual fantasies and introduces foundational kink concepts. Students will reflect on personal biases, learn how to create nonjudgmental spaces, and discuss client-centered approaches to fantasy and kink exploration.

    Building on the previous week, this session delves into advanced kink frameworks such as RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) and SSC (Safe, Sane, Consensual), focusing on the complexities of consent, negotiation, and safety practices essential to ethical kink work.
  • Session 9: Comprehensive Sexual Health: STIs, Contraception, and Informed Choices (Thurs 2 Jul 2026) 🛡️
    This week covers clinical and psychoeducational aspects of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and contraception. Students learn evidence-based prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, while also addressing stigma and emotional challenges clients may face.
  • Session 10: Infertility, Assisted Reproductive Technologies, and Sexual Identity Development (Thur 16 Jul 2026) 🤰
    Students explore the emotional and physical impacts of infertility and assisted reproductive technologies. This session also examines how sexual identity can evolve through reproductive challenges, enhancing empathy and inclusive practice.

She holds a Doctorate in Human Sexuality and is a certified sexuality educator and counselor. Dr. Lee is passionate about empowering individuals and couples to have fulfilling relationships and satisfying sexual lives. About Gabriel Pereira (they/he) – Week 3 instructor

Gabriel Pereira (they/ he), is a Programme Coordinator at The Greenhouse Community Services Ltd and Registered Social Worker (RSW-1983). With over 15 years of experience in social services, they specialise in supporting marginalised communities through attachment-based, intersectional, and systemic approaches. Gabriel facilitates recovery groups, DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) leadership, and advances LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and other non-binary or non-heterosexual identities) inclusion. They are committed to driving social change while holding space for healing and growth. Their work blends professional practice with lived experience, grounded in empathy, equity, and authenticity. As a proud transgender man, their work also extends beyond individual care to shaping a culture that embraces all identities.

About Clementine Liu (she/her) – Week 12 instructor

Clementine Liu is a Registered Counsellor with over 17 years of experience in healthcare and more than 9 years in psychotherapy. She specializes in mental health, sexuality, and ageing, with a strong focus on helping individuals navigate life transitions with dignity and resilience. Known for her work with older adults, cancer survivors, and youth, Clementine offers bilingual, evidence-based counselling that integrates both clinical depth and community-based practice. As the first Mandarin-speaking instructor of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy, she empowers clients to regain a sense of control over their lives. Trained in sexology and gerontology-informed counselling, Clementine is passionate about normalizing conversations around sexuality in later life and promoting holistic well-being across the lifespan.
