JOURNEY INWARD

Sometimes when we feel lost, it is useful to look at a map. Where are you right now and where are you headed? How do you embody the person that you want to be?

When journeying through life, our core beliefs often act as a pair of tinted glasses that allow us to each see life uniquely. Our beliefs affect our perception of the world, our thoughts and emotions. Some of these beliefs may tint our perception of the world with self-doubt, fear and anxiety. This session focuses on identifying and purging self-limiting beliefs that may hold us back from being our authentic selves and living the lives that we want.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS 90 MINUTE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION

Grounding meditation
Body Mapping exercise to honour challenging emotions
Guided flow & gestural painting to encourage authentic expression Psycho-education on core beliefs & cognitive distortions
Guided visualisation for self-love

Four-part psychotherapeutic self-love series:

What to Expect on 14 July

NURTURING YOUR INNER CHILD

Some of us have emotions that we forbid ourselves to feel. Which emotion do you struggle to understand or embrace?
Which emotion do you tend to criticise or minimise when someone else expresses it? Suppressing or denying emotions feeds a spiral of guilt and shame, and we don’t deserve that.

Everyone has a different way of experiencing inadequacy and shame- it can make you feel unlovable, unworthy of happiness or make you feel like a failure. At times, it could hinder your relationships, crush your self worth, make your dreams feel impossible or make you hide the truth. This session focuses on expressing and purging a sense of inadequacy that so deeply affects our relationships with ourselves.

We deserve our own compassion, acceptance, and love. All emotions are valid, it’s about knowing how to honour, process and manage them. In the ocean of our souls we can embrace all currents by allowing our feelings to flow within and past us.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS 90 MINUTE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION

Grounding meditation
Emotional processing exercise to honour challenging emotions Guided “Play” component using art to nurture inner child and increase tolerance for imperfection
Psycho-education to learn emotion regulation skills
Guided visualisation to foster positive self-talk

What to Expect on 21 July

HONOURING YOUR BOUNDARIES

Envision the dwelling place of your soul: How attuned are you with this landscape & when was the last time you tended to it?

If we use a metaphor of a garden to describe your soul, would you you find it hard to articulate your needs when others consciously or unconsciously hurt your garden? Have they taken things that were not theirs, stepped on places that you considered sacred? Or do you spend more of your time and energy watering the gardens of others instead of tending to yours?

Boundaries are a significant part of self-love because they protect our energy. These boundaries can be emotional, mental, physical, sexual and spiritual. This session focuses on identifying some of these boundaries and learning to set them for ourselves and others.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS 90 MINUTE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION

Grounding meditation
Guided stoneware clay-based activity as a practice of having a Container for the Self
Psycho-education on different types of boundaries & how to practice healthy assertive communication
Guided visualisation to foster greater trust in Self & Others

What to Expect on 28 July

PHOENIX RISING
A ceremony of release & restoration.

In many cultures, tea drinking is regarded as a moving meditation that transcends ordinary life. Tea can be perceived as an artful exercise of consciousness that allows the drinker to experience what wabi-sabi entails: the acceptance of transience & appreciation of beauty in imperfection.

When combined with psychotherapy, it can create a deeply meaningful ritual that can allow us to purge unwanted emotions, to honour with our authentic self and to connect with others.

This final 90-minute session of the four-part series is dedicated to a tender step towards meeting and understanding our true transcendent nature like a phoenix rising from the ashes- The moment in between what you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place. Maya Angelou writes it beautifully; “Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still I’ll rise.”

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS 90 MINUTE PSYCHOTHERAPY SESSION

Grounding meditation to embrace present moment
Mandala-making activity using foraged natural elements
to prepare a ceremony for the Self
Guided Tea ceremony for Reconciliation & Release
Guided visualisation for Surrender, cleansing, purging and nurturing
