Performances, instrument touch tour and workshop from Chinese Orchestra and Chinese Dance groups!

NUS University Cultural Centre Theatre

Consisting of performance and an instrument touch tour, this event aims to allow Primary 6 students to experience and appreciate the Chinese Orchestra and Chinese Dance performing arts. All attendees must be seated at least 15 mins before the start of the event. Students will be able to get up close to see and feel the instruments. Our student music ambassadors will also be sharing with the students how to play the instruments.NUS Chinese Orchestra From its inception in 1973, the NUS Chinese Orchestra (NUSCO) has grown to become a prominent youth Chinese orchestra in the local music scene. NUSCO provides its members with the opportunity to pursue their passion in music, exposing them to a varied repertoire from both local and international composers.NUSCO seeks to develop a lifelong appreciation of Chinese orchestral music amongst members through a holistic curriculum that cultivates a growth mindset by increasing the relevance of Chinese orchestral music. NUSCO hopes to inspire other youth in Singapore to contribute to the sustainability of the art form. NUS Chinese Dance Over the last 40 years, NUS Chinese Dance has earned a reputation for excellence through the development and performance of a repertoire of highly challenging works – from technically demanding traditional Chinese dance to fresh and evocative contemporary Chinese pieces.NUS Chinese Dance aims to foster expertise and experience in Chinese dance as well as an appreciation for Chinese culture, striving to bring this unique art form to the masses.
