Why should my child join "Kickstart Your Passion Project"?

In this fast-changing world where the economy becomes more unpredictable for us working parents, it’s even more so going to impact our children. How can we be certain that the old ways of education and schooling can prepare our kids for the uncertain future?

These parents let their children take the path towards their passion, and their children learnt values and skills which are taught beyond classrooms:

Kickstart Your Passion Project is a workshop that keeps things real and brings the real world to your kids. It will help build your child’s personal capacity to innovate, identify opportunities and build useful skills that will be important for their future.

In this one-day workshop, your child will learn how to validate their business ideas and start a crowdfunding campaign in a fun and interactive way. They will learn how to solve problems, real problems and work in teams of 3. Parents are invited for their pitching presentations from 3.45pm to 4.30pm.

What will my child walk away with?

  • Their very own campaign/project idea
  • Their very own kickstarter video, and website (if time allows)
  • Confidence in themselves and their abilities
  • A certificate to represent their accomplishments!

What other cool stuff will my child learn?

  • Understanding business fundamentals
  • Identifying market opportunities and gaps
  • Validating ideas
  • Marketing and communication of new ideas
  • Creating their very own video to share about their idea

What should my child bring?

  • Laptop: If your child has a laptop, please bring it along. Otherwise, we'll have ours available for them to use throughout the day.
  • Money/Packed lunch or snacks : We will be bringing the students out for lunch at City Square Mall, but feel free to get your child to bring their own packed lunch and snacks.
  • A bundle of enthusiasm and creativity! It’s going to be a day of fun and excitement!

Frequently Asked Questions

1. “Can I see my child pitch his/her idea?”

  • We’re just as excited as you about this, so we’ve allocated 3.45pm to 4.30pm to be a presentation showcase. Take an early day off work to witness your child’s brilliant ideas!

2. “What is the age range for this workshop?”

  • Most of our students are between the ages of 13 and 19. However, if your child is slightly younger or older, that's perfectly fine! As long as they have an interest in learning, the things that matters more is whether they are comfortable interacting with other kids who are slightly younger or older.

3. “How big are the classes? Will there be enough supervision?”

  • We keep our class size small with up to only 15 students so that every single child gets the best learning experience. There will be at least 3 adults which means that your child will have someone looking after them and making sure they have a great time!
