About this event
Kokedama is a spherical ball made of soil, covered with moss, on which an ornamental plant grows. The idea originated from Japan using a combination of bonsai and kusamono planting styles.
'Koke' means moss and 'dama' means sphere or ball in Japanese. Plantitude opted to use coconut coir and coco peat for the "Koke" as they are more accessible and sustainable, instead of moss and peat soil to make the 'dama'.
This activity introduces a fun gardening experience while encouraging a sustainable approach.
We will share how to make these hanging spheres into planters for your ornamental plants.
This workshop is suitable for adults and children aged 7 & above.
All material will be provided. Each participant brings home a Kokedama from the workshop.
Duration: 1-1.5 hours
