Habitat for Humanity Singapore's Carnival Fun-Raiser is a time where we shine the spotlight on our talented supporters and volunteers! While the pandemic has hindered us from getting volunteers involved in our large-scale Project HomeWorks sessions, there are still other ways we can use our skills and talents for a good cause!To commemorate World Habitat Day on 4 October and International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on 17 October 2021, we have launched a host of performances and workshops both online and in-person for anyone to participate! Anchored by the conviction that housing provides a path out of poverty, HFH Singapore has been working alongside families and individuals of limited means to increase access to improved shelter since 2004. Its Global Village programme mobilises volunteers for house construction and disaster response projects in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2006, Project HomeWorks was started to improve the living conditions, safety and sanitation of the growing number of vulnerable elderly across the island. As an international nonprofit Christian housing organisation, Habitat for Humanity welcomes people of all races, religions and nationalities to partner in its mission. LitteRally is a free, family-friendly, litter-picking event in conjunction with the Public Hygiene Council’s Keep Clean Singapore movement.

Promenade Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park

LitteRally is a free, family-friendly, litter-picking event in conjunction with the Public Hygiene Council’s Keep Clean Singapore (KCS) movement. It will be the culminating event of the month-long KCS event and aims to attract 800-1000 participants. There will be several routes for participants to choose from depending on how long they wish to walk. The routes will begin at Bishan, Ang Mo Kio or Marymount MRT stations and end at the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park’s Promenade event space. At the Promenade, participants can take part in activity booths promoting recycling and have opportunities to take some fun photos. Participants will be encouraged to bring their own water bottles and plastic bags to collect the litter. We will provide everyone with tongs to pick the litter.The aim of this event is to inculcate a sense of civic-mindedness in local residents, so we can all clean up after ourselves instead of rely on our army of cleaners.
