Vivian's Profile

Vivian trained as a Gestalt psychotherapist at the Metanoia Psychotherapy Training Institute in London between 1987 and 1994 and was originally accredited through Metanoia and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). In the 1990s she came into contact with Bert Hellinger and his Family Constellations work. She realised there was something creative and valuable in the process Hellinger devised for accessing unconscious material and organised a training in the UK in this work between 2000 and 2009.

She met Professor Franz Ruppert in 2004, and since that time has devoted her professional life to following his developing ideas. In 2008 she began working exclusively with his theory and method, and subsequently resigned from the UKCP since she no longer agreed with some of their criteria for membership.

She has edited the English translation of eight of Franz Ruppert’s books on the topic, has written three of her own books, one on Family Constellations and two on Ruppert’s work, and is currently writing what she hopes is a definitive text book on IOPT as developed to date. She lives and works in the UK, and also in many other countries, teaching and supporting new and developing IOPT practitioners worldwide.

Identity Oriented Psychotrauma Therapy (IOPT) is a ground-breaking theory of psychological trauma developed by Professor Franz Ruppert, Munich. In these lectures Vivian will present a detailed look at IOPT theory in a series of presentations on the following topics:

We cannot properly understand what trauma is and what its impact on us is if we do not understand various other topics, such as what Identity is, how the Psyche functions, how we survive and manage trauma, what it means to live from a biography dominated by trauma, and how deep and pervasive are the resulting dynamics of trauma that we call Victim-Perpetrator dynamics.

There is an opportunity to look at the Intention Method as a means of exploring how the traumas we have experienced function in our psyche.

CONDITIONS OF ATTENDING THE WORKSHOP:

Below are the conditions of the workshop and if you do not agree please do not register. We treat this online workshop like an actual workshop and also take the clients' trauma very seriously and if found that you are not abiding with any of the following, legal actions may be enforced. This is to ensure a safe healing space for everyone who are observing and learning as well as those who are doing their own works.

1. Those who have absolutely no experience will be assigned to a support leader during the workshop if you opt for it. In System of the Heart we call them Hang Out leaders who will support you in the further learning of IOPT online.

2. Due to the private and confidential nature of the workshop, STRICTLY no forms of recording or capture (eg: video or audio) will be allowed during the workshop/ Lecture.

3. Please note that each ticket seat is strictly only for one attendee. If the tickets are found to be misused, you will not be able to attend future online events. However in view of poor internet connection, a couple ( with two tickets) can share a laptop.

4. There should be no bystander or onlookers - the sessions should be attended in a private place where you are alone in the room. E.g Strictly no children running around/ spouse or partner walking around. You must be in a completely private space. You can excuse yourself to go to another room and attend to your kids/ other matters if need be - but no one else should be allowed to browse the zoom event out of curiosity or for any other reasons.

5. Everyone is required to fill up and agree on a virtual google form of all the non-disclosure and conditions and without your submitted copy, you are not allowed to attend the workshop. Kindly complete this before the event. You will find it in your email after you register.

6. This workshop attendance is strictly by registration, non-registered guests will not be allowed into the event. On the actual day, every single person will be identified and VERIFIED by our admin staff and the state of verification will be visible to everyone. All non-verified guests will not be allowed in the room.

7. During the workshop or lecture if you feel that you are too overwhelmed by any processes, you may choose the following:

• Mute the video and spend some time self-processing the emotions
• Off the video - ( still logged in) and go grab a drink, go for a walk or listen to some music.
• Exit the session totally

at any point of time, please feel free to connect with your assigned therapist during the workshop - they will be supporting you - there will be 5 emotional support therapist supporting the group.
