About this event

Come join us at our community garden, where we practice permaculture principles and use no-till techniques to nurture the soil naturally. We strive to create a balanced ecosystem without any man-made chemicals or pesticides—only all-natural methods.

Help with simple but important tasks like weeding, composting, harvesting, soil mixing, and watering. The fresh produce we grow goes to our community fridge, supporting families in need.

By volunteering, you’re not just giving back—you’re learning sustainable gardening skills and contributing to Singapore’s 30-by-30 goal for food self-sufficiency. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just curious, your time and energy make a real difference.

Let’s grow a greener, healthier community together—see you at the garden!

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any gardening experience to volunteer?

No experience is needed! All tasks will be guided by our team, so beginners are very welcome.

What should I bring to the volunteering session?

We recommend wearing breathable long sleeves, long pants, and covered shoes for comfort. Please bring a hat for sun protection and a water bottle to stay hydrated. Gardening gloves are optional but helpful.

Is the garden wheelchair and PMA friendly?

Yes! Our rooftop garden is accessible with ramps and paved paths to accommodate wheelchairs and PMAs.

Can young children visit or volunteer?

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times for safety reasons.

Can I just visit and explore the garden without volunteering?

Absolutely! Feel free to come by, enjoy the garden, and see what we’re growing — no obligation to participate.

Can we arrange volunteering for a larger group?

Yes, we welcome group volunteering! Please contact us via email to discuss and schedule your visit.

What can I expect to learn from volunteering?

Learn sustainable gardening hands-on with permaculture, no-till soil care, composting, and organic pest control. Discover how community gardens support Singapore’s 30-by-30 food sustainability goal and help build a greener, self-sufficient future for all.

Is there any age limit for volunteers?

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, though anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

How long does a typical volunteering session last?

Sessions usually last 3 hours, but you’re welcome to stay longer or leave earlier based on your availability.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

For light rain, gardening activities usually continue—sometimes under shelter while waiting out the rain. In case of heavy rain or severe weather, volunteering may be cancelled. Please check updates on our Telegram group GBTBCommunityGarden, as we post all announcements there.

Do I need to register before coming?

Yes, please register for the event through Eventbrite so we can prepare and manage group sizes effectively.

How can I contact you for more information?

You can reach us by email at yakultgold@gmail.com or via the Eventbrite contact page. We are also contactable at our telegram group GBTBCommunityGarden.

Will tools and supplies be provided?

Yes, we provide all necessary gardening tools and materials for the tasks.

Are there restroom facilities available at the garden?

There are no toilets on the rooftop garden. The nearest restroom is at a coffeeshop located two blocks away downstairs. Please plan accordingly.
