Ubin Volunteer HubSingapore
Saturday, June 20  •  1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Overview

Get inspired by Pulau Ubin’s iconic wildlife, and create your own Conservation Mascot in this hands-on workshop!

This FREE Workshop is part of the official Pesta Ubin 2026 programme! It takes place on Ubin Day, the last day of Pesta Ubin. It's a great time to explore and enjoy the island in a different way. Join us!

📍 Seminar Room at Ubin Volunteer Hub (5 min walk from the jetty)

✔️ Family friendly. But children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

✔️ No art or wildlife experience needed.

✔️ Supplies provided!

Conservation mascots are typically animal characters that educate the public about nature. They might talk and even wear clothes. Many mascots feature famous endangered animals, like pandas or polar bears.

Pulau Ubin has its own iconic native species, like the Long-tailed Macaque, Oriental Pied Hornbill and Sunda Pangolin, ready to inspire your own unique characters.

Choose an animal and develop a mascot complete with a catchy slogan and loads of personality!

There will also be an opportunity to showcase your artwork online. Don't miss out!

About the Facilitator: Juliette Yu-Ming Lizeray is a comic artist, writer and nature lover. She is the author of Snakes of Singapore: A Slightly Unhinged Field Guide, forthcoming with Epigram in 2026.

🌧 This is a rain or shine event, conducted indoors! ☀️
