Makerspace Learning Journey & Prototyping Clinic
Bridging the Gap from Idea to Reality
For many young inventors, the transition from a conceptual sketch to a functional prototype is a challenging stage of the innovation process. To support students in the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award journey, Vivita Singapore will be hosting a makerspace learning journey and prototyping clinic designed to provide the help and guidance needed to bring the ideas to life.
Hosted at our community creative studio Vivistop Kampong Eunos, this three-hour session offers students an opportunity to explore digital fabrication, making tools, and upcycling techniques that can be used to prototype their ideas.
Workshop Highlights
- Makerspace Guided Tour: A guided exploration of our makerspace, showcasing how digital fabrication (3D printing, laser cutting) and traditional tools can be integrated into modern prototyping.
- Technical Hands-On: Participants will rotate through 2–3 specialized tool stations. This is a practical opportunity to learn some new skills that will help in the prototyping process.
- Group Consultation Clinic: In a collaborative group setting, students will share their project concepts to experienced makers, where they will receive advise to identifying the most efficient methods for implementation and alternatives to making.
