Managing Problem Behaviours & Positive Guidance
Event Information
Description
DESCRIPTION:
Problem behaviours (such as lying, fighting with siblings, throwing tantrums, walking around during lessons at school) can be very disruptive to home and school lives. While PARENTS and TEACHERS are eager to help children improve their behaviours, often we do not understand the root of the problem behaviours and lack effective methods to guide the child. Research has shown the punishment has no long-term effect on improving problem behaviours. Hence, how can we help children improve their behaviours effectively and at the same time nurture better adult-child relationships?
At the 3rd talk of our Self-Regulation Series, parents and teachers will learn practical strategies to help children:
1. Find the root of problem behaviours,
2. Improve problem behaviours and adult-child relationships,
3. Analyze and reflect on the consequences of the child’s actions and make good choices.
Moreover, practical strategies Parents and Teachers can use to prevent, intervene, and responding to problem behaviour at home and school settings will be shared with illustrations of real case studies. This workshop is suitable for parents and teachers who want to help children of all age groups.
