Why are the tour timings fixed?

Our tours follow the natural tide timings. Suitable low tides don’t occur every day, and the exact times change daily. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, we have to follow nature’s rules and schedule the walks only when the tide is right.

How difficult is the walk?

The walk is generally easy but includes some bending, occasional walking on uneven sandy ground, and waddling in ankle-deep water. It may not be suitable for participants who require mobility aids.

What is the recommended age group?

The tour is suitable for all ages. Children aged 3 and below may not fully follow the knowledge shared and often prefer to be carried partway through. From around age 4 onwards, kids are usually able to better understand and enjoy the stories, facts, and interactions during the adventure.

Is the tour suitable for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, children of all ages are welcome. For safety, those aged 9 and below must be accompanied by at least one adult in the group to help keep a lookout. This does not mean one adult per child – a group of kids can be accompanied by just one adult.

Is the tour suitable for elderly participants?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but do note that the terrain can be a little uneven in certain areas. Participants should be reasonably mobile and comfortable walking on natural shorelines.

What happens if it rains?

Accepted Answer

We’ll inform you 30 minutes before the tour if it will proceed. Most times the rain clouds pass us by, so wait for our confirmation. If cancelled, you may opt for a full refund or reschedule. For light rain, the tour continues if it’s safe.

Are aquashoes compulsory?

Accepted Answer

Aquashoes are not compulsory, but they are strongly encouraged for your safety and comfort. Covered shoes with a good grip are also fine, while crocs are acceptable as the bare minimum. For safety reasons, flip flops are not allowed during the tour.

Will there be toilet or shower facilities nearby?

Accepted Answer

Public toilets and shower facilities are available at Changi Beach, but do note that there may not be toilets directly at the intertidal area.

Is photography allowed?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage you to bring your camera or phone to capture the amazing biodiversity.

Can participants join midway if they are late?

Accepted Answer

To avoid disrupting the group experience, latecomers may not be able to join once the tour has started. Please arrive on time.
