Singapore Clay Festival (SCF) is Singapore’s premier Clay Makers exhibition & ceramics festival, with programmes, demos & workshops over 4 days, Thursday to Sunday, and a Preview on 6 November, Thursday.
The SCF Clay Makers’ Market features Singapore’s current studio pottery practice by hundreds of clay practitioners, encouraging clay makers to show their best creations to thousands of visitors and clay enthusiasts. The Market has grown from 56 tables in 2021 to 99 tables in 2023, with visitorship of almost 4000.
Our previous exhibitions have provided educational insight into Singapore Clay Heritage including works of dragon kilns like Thow Kwang, Sam Mui Kwang; studio ceramics and sculpture pioneers like Ng Eng Teng and Iskandar Jalil; and provides spaces for Singapore-based clay practitioners to develop and excel under our curated programmes. Keynote speakers and masterclass leaders have included Agnes Lim, Ahmad Abu Bakar, Chua Soo Kim, Dr Anoma Pieris, Dr Kelvin Low, Dr Suriani Suratman, Jessie Lim, Steven Low Thia Khiang, Teo Huey Ling.
The Clay Makers’ Market is an important platform in Singapore for the clay makers to meet new customers, create awareness of their works and studio practices and courses, and view the works of other clay makers, sharing ideas and being challenged to work in new ways. The Festival is an exciting, family-friendly mix of all things clay.
Singapore Clay Festival debuted in 2021 as a first multi-event community celebration for all clay creatives at Enabling Village, Singapore’s inclusivity hotspot in Redhill.
We invite you to join us at Clay Makers’ Market ‘24 from 7 - 10 November at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre.
