Unknown to many, Mid - Autumn is a time for family reunion, friends gathering, celebrations and thanksgiving. As much as it is a joyous occasion, it is a festival that used ot be feared!
Traditionally, Mid Autum Festival is one of the 8 main Chinese Festivals. On this day, the Chinese not only moongazed but also worshipped to the belief of the Moon Goddess. As we past by the famous Yueh Hai Ching Temple, hear personal stories about Love Deity who is believed to be responsible for all fate and marriages on this world and how this Festival used to be a "lover" festival too.
So as the night fall upon, let us gather together with family and friends, and bringing back the days of the yesteryears as we carry a traditional lantern strolling down the historical site of Telok Ayer (Chinatown) to Singapore River.
