Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Life (MBCT-L) is a program backed by scientific research. Developed at Oxford University, MBCT-L offers a proven approach to managing depression and cultivating a more positive outlook on life.

By learning to identify and challenge negative thought patterns while cultivating mindfulness and self-compassion, individuals can break free from the cycle of chronic unhappiness and experience lasting well-being.

COURSE FEE:

$550.00 per person

$110 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy

National Silver Academy

  • NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

  • In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
  • All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.

Important Notes:

• Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable, non-transferable.

• Do ensure you are able to attend the 1st session before registering as you will not be allowed to continue with the course should you miss the 1st session.

• Missing subsequent sessions does not disqualify you from taking part in the course - the trainer is not obligated to recap what was missed.

• Attendance of all 8 Sessions + 1 Full Day Retreat are required for Certificate of Completion.

• Request for transfer or make up class for selected mindfulness courses are subjected to availability. Admin fees chargeable, $30 for course transfer and $10 for make-up session.

•Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.

Trainer Bio:

Dr Irene Tirtajana is the Head of Psychiatry at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH). She provides care for medically ill and general psychiatry patients, with special interests in mindfulness-based interventions and the connection between psychology and chronic diseases. 

 

She obtained her medical and master’s degrees in psychiatry from the National University of Singapore and became a specialist in 2014. Dr Tirtajana serves on Ng Teng Fong General Hospital’s Clinical Ethics Committee and the National Organ Transplant Unit’s Transplant Ethics Committee. As a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, she teaches medical students and gives talks on mental health to healthcare professionals and the public. 

 

Dr Tirtajana is a qualified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. She is also a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher. 

EFFECTIVE 1ST JUNE 2025, ALL TICKETS PURCHASED WITH INTENT TO USE SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT WILL HAVE A NON-REFUNDABLE, $20 ADMINISTRATIVE FEE IMPOSED.

HOW? Do I begin the process of using my SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) to pay for course fees:

Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or Individual+SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)

Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.

Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):

If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".

Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".

*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.
