Start your mindfulness journey with this foundation course

About this Event

In this 4-session course, you will learn and practise mind-body skills which helps you cope with stress and brings about:

  • Balance
  • Stability
  • Well-being

What is Mindfulness?

“Mindfulness is a conscious effort to be completely present – to set aside worry, expectations and other thoughts and emotions to be fully aware of the current moment. Who is this for?

People who have little or no knowledge of mindfulness and wish to learn how to apply it in their daily lives. Suitable for adults and teenagers 16 and above.

Course fee:

$160 | $32 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

Course fee may be offset by ^SkillsFuture Credit (SFC). First, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre Eventbrite page, followed by claim with SFC. Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claim upon receipt of the funds from SFC. More details on SFC will be provided upon registration.

Notes:

  • Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • Do ensure that you are able to attend the first session of the course before registering for the course as you will not be allowed to continue with the course should you miss the first session.
  • Request for transfers or make up-classes for selected mindfulness courses are subjected to availability and fees of $30 for transfers and $10 for make-up are applicable.

Research Opportunity

All participants in the MFC course are invited to take part in a collaborative research study between Brahm Centre and Duke-NUS Medical School. We will send you an e-mail within a week with more details of this study, which is questionnaire-based. It will take about 1 hour in your own time and you will be compensated $15 within 3 months of your course ending.

Teacher Bio

Ms Lily Gan is a Brahm Centre mindfulness trainer and also the centre’s Head of Counselling. Lily has been practicing mindfulness since 2015 after attending various mindfulness courses, and she also applies mindfulness as an important modality in her counselling sessions. After being certified as a Brahm Centre Mindfulness Trainer in 2018 she has been teaching the centre’s Mindfulness Foundation Course in both English and Mandarin.

Lily graduated with a Masters of Social Science (Counselling & Psychotherapy) from Edith Cowen University, Australia in 2011. She provided pro-bono counselling services in the local community such as THK Family Service Centre and Brahm Centre, before joining Brahm Centre as a Counsellor.
