About this event

This 3 hour workshop will teach participants about the connections between emotions and mental health. It will show how basic mindfulness can be used to regulate emotions and hence, improve mental well-being. After understanding, it seeks to encourage participants to learn and practice techniques during the Mindfulness Experiential Session. These will help their ability to evoke positive emotions and silence self-destructive thoughts.


WHAT?

The workshop aims to help parents or caregivers to:

• Gain insights into the mind and behaviour of our care recipients

• Develop open and nourishing communication skills with them

• Apply mindful approaches to develop better connection and collaboration.


TOPICS

· Introduction to mindfulness

· The mind and behaviour of different groups of care recipients

· Communication skills for engaging them

· A deep dive into mindful parenting and caregiving


LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the course, participants will have:

· Gained a deeper understanding of the psychology of care recipients

· Reduced their stress and anxiety

· Developed a more positive mindset

· Enhanced their parent–child and caregiver–care recipient relationships

COURSE FEE:

$60.00 per person

$12 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy

National Silver Academy

  • NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

SkillsFuture Credit

  • In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
  • All tickets purchased with the intent to use SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee will be subject to a non-refundable $20 administrative fee.

Important Notes:

• Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable, non-transferable.

• Request for transfer of course is subjected to availability. Admin fees chargeable, $30 for course transfer.

•Brahm Centre reserves the right to replan the course should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.

Step 1 (on Skillsfuture Website): Check your SkillsFuture credit balance.

Log into your SkillsFuture Portal to confirm you have sufficient SkillsFuture Credit balance (Take note: $4K SkillsFuture Career Transition Credits CANNOT be used for Brahm Centre courses).

Step 2 (on Eventbrite Website): Securing your ticket.

On Eventbrite, search for the course you are interested in.

Step 3 (on Eventbrite Website): Select correct ticket type & complete registration.

Select the intended Ticket Type (either NSA+SkillsFuture or Individual+SkillsFuture) and complete your registration. Upon successful registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about the course.

Save/Screenshot the confirmation. (you will use this in the following steps)

Step 4 (on Skillsfuture Website): Submit your SkillsFuture claim.

Go back to the SkillsFuture Portal to submit a claim under 'E-Services'.

Please submit your SkillsFuture credit claim 60 days BEFORE the course commencement, for it to be valid. Deadline to submit SFC Claim is one week prior to course commencement.

Step 5 (on Skillsfuture Website):

If your SFC submission was completed successfully, the status of your submission would reflect as "PENDING".

Your registration is confirmed after your SkillsFuture claim status reflect as "APPROVED".

*Should you choose to cancel your SFC claim before the start date, Brahm Centre reserves the right to impose a penalty fee for course withdrawal.
