About this event
WHAT?
In this course, participants will be learn basic techniques of mosaic to create easy and lovely mosaic art projects to decorate their house or create bespoke gifts for loved ones
Using the various techniques taught Participants will create their individual work using the Elements of Art and Principals of Design learn in class.
Lesson 1: Introduction to Mosaic (History/tools/materials) and create a square coaster project using basic technique.
Lesson 2: Learn to create mosaic round board using different types of materials, such as glass tiles and seashells. Demonstration of glass cutting, and polishing will be provided.
Lesson 3: Learn to create floral patterns using mica fragments (shape Pre-cut) on heart shape board. Student will learn how to use cutting tools.
Lesson 4: Complete pasting of all projects and grouting
Learning Outcome:
1. Participants will have better understanding in Mosaic Art.
2. Participants will learn about the creating process of this art
3. Participants can create beautiful mosaic art projects as gifts or decorative items
Training Delivery Method: Live demonstration
Materials given to the participants:
1. Square wooden coaster
2. Round wooden board
3. Wooden Heart Shape board
Tools and Materials provided by the instructors:
1. Mosaic tiles (Glass tiles, Mica Chips, other types of tiles, Seashells and other materials)
2. Cutting tools
3. Polishing tool
4. Finger gloves
5. Glue
6. Grout
7. Grouting tools (mixing bowls, stirrers, sponge, spoon)
8. Sticks
9. Gloves
Materials and tools for participants to bring along:
1. Pencil
2. Marker pen
3. Small towel
4. Apron

COURSE FEE:
$190 |$38 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*
*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.
In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).
Payment Procedure:
1) Upon registration, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre’s Eventbrite page.
2) Participants have to claim with SFC before the course start date through the SkillsFuture portal, https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/content/portal/en/index.html
3) Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claimed upon receipt of the funds from SFC. This procedure can take up to 12 weeks from the course start date.
4) Participants must achieve a minimum of 75% attendance, to be eligible for their SkillsFuture Credit reimbursement.
Notes:• Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.• There are no make-up lessons if you miss any session.• If you miss the first session, you are allowed to proceed with the course. However, the trainer is not obligated to do a recap during the second session.• Brahm Centre reserves the right to replace a trainer, should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.
Trainer Bio:
Danica is full time art and craft instructor. She is a certified instructor for Decoupage, Zentangle, Pastel Art and Silver Art Clay. Danica has also been learning, practicing, and conducting art and craft workshops, such as mosaic art, fluid art, painting.
