MUFG FinTech Festival Lab Crawl
Event Information
About this Event
This year, at the FinTech Festival Lab Crawl hosted by MUFG Bank, we take a close look at how FinTech solutions can address issues for stakeholders across the agri-food supply chain and connect the dots between urban and rural realities.
We will hear from startups and businesses that are already making a huge difference using in this space with digital tools.
We'll focus on solutions in three key areas:
- FinTech in a Smallholder World
Smallholder farmers contribute a large proportion of global agricultural output, but often lack access to formal financial services. Instead they operate in a highly cash-based informal sector, where credit is extended at very high interest rates. How can digital tools help integrate smallholders into the formal ecosystem?
> Panel Discussion: Syngenta, Hari, iApps, CROWDE
> Demo by AgriON and CROWDE
- Challenges and Opportunities for SMEs in Urban and Rural Areas
In a competitive environment, SMEs require fast and reliable credit lines. However, regulations create delays and inconveniences. For example, in several countries, prospective debtors are required to be physically present at a bank branch. How can digital tools support KYC and compliance requirements to deliver a fast and secure way of doing business?
> Panel Discussion: FundOn, iApps, Silot AI
> Demo by Silot AI
- Consumers and Health
Food products produced by smallholders in rural settings are consumed by urban consumers. What we eat, along with physical activity, has a major impact on our health. In the final section, we will hear from Omron about their health monitoring tools.
> Sharing & demo by Omron
> Fireside chat with GINKAN and MUFG Tokyo
