Heritage Havoc Game Sessions
Thurs & Fri, 28 & 29 August
2 - 3.30pm, Registration required
Heritage Havoc is a curatorial card game set in the NUS Baba House. As a ‘curator’, your goal is to acquire objects based on our real artefacts, and locate them within the space of house to form your own tour or exhibition. Along the way, you will be met with discussion points that allow you and your fellow curators to share your thoughts and ideas about heritage, and challenges that can make or break your exhibition. From other players ‘stealing’ artefacts to ‘havocs’ which can summon floods, termites and other environmental threats that can jeopardise your objects, navigate these challenges and strategise your way into building a successful show.
Heritage Havoc is supported by the Cultural Matching Fund.
A Queer Gaze: Seeing and Being Seen
Guided by Genesis Phan
Thurs & Fri, 28 & 29 August
2 - 3.30pm, Registration required
A Queer Gaze: Seeing and Being Seen explores how artworks and artefacts can be read through a queer lens. Moving through Radio Malaya, the Resource Gallery, and Ng Eng Teng: 1+1=1, the tour examines queerness as both a subject and a way of seeing—challenging notions of visibility, interpretation, and meaning in art.
This tour is only open to participants aged 18 and above. It contains mature themes, including (but not limited to) discussions of gender, sexuality, and interpretations of the human body in art. To ensure a safe and respectful environment for students, organisers, and audiences, recording, screen capture, or any form of content capture is strictly prohibited. By joining the tour, you acknowledge the importance of protecting artistic expression and the integrity of intellectual exchange within this programme.
Public Temporalities: Memory in/and Movement
Guided by Aida Nadirah Abdul Raziff
Thurs & Fri, 28 & 29 August
4 - 5.30pm, Registration required
Public Temporalities: Memory in/and Movement examines public sculptures across NUS, reflecting on their evolving meanings as the University marks its 120th anniversary. Engaging with these works as markers of history, memory, and space, the tour considers how public art shapes our understanding of the past and present.
This tour takes place outdoors across various locations on the NUS campus and requires participants to navigate stairs, uneven pathways, and extended walking distances. Please wear comfortable footwear and be prepared for varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and sudden rain. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, and an umbrella or raincoat. In the event of severe wet weather, the tour may be delayed or cancelled for safety reasons. Participants will be notified as soon as possible in such cases.
