Despite being a globetrotter, Vishakha will be presenting her hometown’s traditional Maharashtran cuisine.

About this event

The unique culture and history of each state in India is strongly reflected in their distinct cuisines - find out how Maharashtrian food differs from other parts of India with Vishakha who will be presenting its traditional cuisine! Savour these traditional flavours from the former culinary teacher over dinner as she shares more about her life back in Nagpur!

About the cook

Hello everyone I am Vishakha and I was born in Baroda, Gujarat but raised in Nagpur, Maharashtra. I am the typical Maharashtrian girl who studied Hotel Management and worked in Mumbai and Pune. In India, I was a culinary teacher and chef. When I met my partner, a captain of a merchant navy, we travelled the world. In 2019, we moved to Singapore. However, no matter where I go, food still reminds me of my hometown. I continue to cook with my roots in mind but based on the availability of ingredients, substituting recipes with fresh ingredients that you can source from the markets here.

What’s the story behind the dishes at the dinner?

I will be cooking my hometown food from Maharashtra. They will be fresh and nutritious. They represent my culture and the traditions in the family.
