Complex Trauma Experiential Group Therapy is an American-based therapy which is also known as STARS Experiential Group intervention. This therapy is well-supported by scientific research based on the neurobiology of trauma and is a proven approach to manage complex trauma and find recovery and healing.
By learning to understand yourself at a deep level and utilize group strengths of others to find resolution to traumas in life, individuals can break free from the cycle of chronic emotional pain, find hope and resolution of traumas to experience lasting peace and well-being.

Experience
Carolyn Lim is a Counsellor with Care Corner Counselling Centre, providing mainly mental health counselling services, dedicated to promoting ‘Care to Every Corner’ in Singapore. An experienced SAC (Singapore Association of Counselling) Registered Counsellor (RC) and Singapore Association of Social Workers) Registered Social Worker (RSW), with over 5,000hrs of counselling and 800hrs of group facilitation experience.
She has presented at conferences on social work and mental health and co-led workshops on overcoming trauma in various countries in Egypt, Greece, India, Italy, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore.
The first Certified Team Lead in the Therapeutic Spiral Model (TSM), USA, providing expert support in both individual and group experiential therapy for trauma and mental health survivors in Singapore. She has impacted many lives through group therapy and supervision for over a decade.
She has also previously served the community at AWARE and AWWA. She runs monthly group therapy and group supervision, group retreats to more than 700 people across all ages. Her clients extend across sectors – from education to healthcare, active ageing hub to communities.
In appreciation of her contribution to Singapore Association of Counselling, she received the Trustworthy and Catalyst Awards in 2022 and 2024. She also received a Health Hero Award in individual category in 2024 for being an active health and community volunteer over many years in Singapore.
