About A Few Little Words: Memories of The Future
Following the success of A Few Little Words: Stories from Tampines and Beyond 2024, this second installment, A Few Little Words II: Memories of the Future, continues to build a creative legacy in Tampines, commemorating Singapore's 60th National Day (SG60). Through a series of engaging literary workshops running from July to November 2025, participants will delve deeply into our rich history, shared heritage, collective memories, and imaginative cultural landscape. These workshops will act as a creative incubator for the local community, encouraging residents to explore new narratives deeply rooted in temporality—honoring the past, celebrating the present, and envisioning an inspired future. Participants will reflect on personal and communal histories, drawing from lived experiences and inherited stories to forge fresh literary expressions uniquely representative of Tampines' evolving identity.
Part of Singapore Writers Festival 2025, the culmination of these workshops will be an anthology co-edited by Quarterly Literary Review Singapore (QLRS) and Vertical Submarine. This curated publication will showcase a vibrant collection of narratives capturing the distinct spirit, memory, and imagination of Tampines residents.
