About The Biodiversity Collective
TBC stands for The Biodiversity Collective series. TBC plays on "To Be Continued" as we believe that biodiversity must be continued for generations, and that it's also not just something for experts/researchers to understand. But the learnings must continue for everyone because biodiversity is the bedrock of society!
Immere yourselves in nature!
Join us with our partner, Singapore Youth Voices for Biodiversity, for an immersive outdoor experience that blends science, imagination, and movement — as we explore Alexandra Woodland, a rare gem of rewilded green space in central Singapore. Once a freshwater swamp, this area was transformed through human development and canal construction… only to slowly return to its wild form, revealing the resilience of urban nature.
Located across the Rail Corridor from Alexandra Hospital, the site, around the size of 36 football fields is an important ecological link between the nature reserves in central Singapore and the Southern Ridges.
This session is designed to be reflective, informative, and collaborative — reminding us that biodiversity isn’t just out there in untouched forests. It’s right here, reclaiming space beside us.
Meetup Venue:
Block 19. You may take 147,196 or 198 from Commonwealth MRT Station for direct access.
Safety notes:
- Bear in mind that we are visiting a wild area - the trails here are unpaved and unmaintained so do prepare to get muddy.
- Covered shoes are mandatory - participants without covered shoes will not be allowed to join the walk.
- You may want to wear long pants/sleeves and insect repellent for the mosquitoes.
- Remember to bring water - it can get really hot some days!
