About this event

Acrylic Painting is a versatile medium that can be painted on a various surfaces such as canvas. Upon completion of this course, participants will be equipped with the basic knowledge of painting simple acrylic blending.

Course Objectives:

This course aims to give a basic introduction to acrylic painting techniques, understand this medium, and how to achieve its optimal results. Participants will be guided through a learning process of acrylic painting on canvas. Upon completion, participants will be equipped with basic knowledge of painting with different themes.


Learning Outcome

  • Understand the Acrylic medium
  • How to use different type of brushes to create different types of texture
  • Understanding the amount of water required to paint “wet style” painting
  • How to simplify and breakdown a painting
  • Understanding the layering in a painting

Arts material will be provided.

Things that participants need to bring from HOME:

One container for washing brushes and cleaning cloth. Newspaper to keep the table clean.

Course Fee:

$320 |$64 for seniors eligible for National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy*

*NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above.

In addition to NSA subsidy, course fee may be offset by SkillsFuture Credit (SFC).


Payment Procedure:

1) Upon registration, course participants are to make payment for the course through Brahm Centre’s Eventbrite page. This is considered as a deposit to reserve a place in the course.

2) Participants have to claim with SFC before the course start date through the SkillsFuture portal, https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/

3) Brahm Centre will reimburse the amount that is successfully claimed upon receipt of the funds from SFC. This procedure can take up to 12 weeks from the course end date.

Notes:

  • Please note that payments for courses are non-refundable.
  • There are no make-up lessons if you miss any session and the trainer is not obligated to do a recap during the following session.
  • Brahm Centre reserves the right to replace a trainer, should the trainer be unable to conduct the class due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Photos and/or videos may be taken during activities for Brahm Centre's records and promotional purposes.

Trainer Bio


Hui Ting is an independent artist, primarily working with acrylic paint and pastel. Her paintings often draw inspiration from nature and her personal experiences. She actively participates in art markets and conventions to share her artworks with the world. Simultaneously, she has been teaching acrylic painting and has obtained her diploma from the Japan Pastel Hope Art Association. She brings her own aesthetic spin to various themes and believes that learning art can uplift a person and brighten their everyday life.
