Tabla Beats meet Curry Eats in a Claypot Curry Extravaganza designed to feed all your senses!

Curries slow-cooked in clay pots to bring out layers of flavours with dishes from India to Arabia – Lamb Karahi, Lamb Salona, Gosh! Saag Ghosh, Claypot Vegetarian Biryani, Claypot Chicken Curry and more! The Tabla Ensemble lead by Maestro Mihir Kundu sets the mood with ancient rhythms and tonal beauty that easily spellbind while they take you to a sacred space. It’s meditative, uplifting and invigorating all at once. Enjoy this rare experience in the intimacy of our hosts home.

The food is paired with two award-winning wines from the cellars of Wingnalls Wines in Western Australia, the Pinot Noir 2014 and Unwooded Chardonnay 2016.

About the musicians

Mihir Kundu

Maestro Mihir has performed extensively in India, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Italy and South East Asia. He is equally adept in three Gharanas-Farukhabad, Punjab and Delhi because of his training in the Pt. Sankha Chatterjee School of Music. His vast experience and tutoring capabilities has allowed him to share the stage with other music greats including Pt. Samaresh Chowdhury, Pt. Amiya Ranjan Bannerjee, Pt. Manilal Nag, Ustad Ali Ahamad Hussain. He is currently a senior teacher at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Association.

 

Nabendu Battacharya

Guru Nabendu excels in playing the harmonium and is an acclaimed vocal music artist who follows the “Patiala Gayaki” style. He has performed internationally with his Khayal, Thumri, Bhajan, and Bengali Raga based songs moving audiences from India to Europe and America. He has performed with eminent personalities like Ustad Nisar Hussain Khan, Pt. A.Kanan, Pt. Arun Bhaduri, Ustad Mashkur Ali Khan, Ustad Rashid Khan, Pt. Prasun Banerjee and Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. He currently teaches at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Association.
