💡 What can you expect from the session?

For many people, food represents both sustenance and an expression of love. When someone becomes ill and approaches the end of life, they often encounter difficulties with eating and drinking. In this session, we explore common nutritional challenges and provide practical strategies to help manage these dietary changes.

✨ About the speaker

Ms Chan Sue Mei is the Head of Department and Principal Dietitian of the Nutrition & Dietetics Department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) and Yishun Community Hospital (YCH). Sue Mei has a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics with Honours from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia) and a Masters in Health Science (Management) from University of Sydney.

She is an Accredited Dietitian of Singapore and is an active member of the Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association (SNDA).

Her current interests are in palliative care, geriatrics, community nutrition, food services and quality improvement. She is currently part of the multidisciplinary team providing Inpatient Hospice Palliative Care Service (IHPCS) in YCH.
