About this event

  • Event lasts 10 hours

Step into a day of quiet simplicity, where the Eight Precepts serve as more than just guidelines. They become companions on the path of clarity and inner discipline. This one-day retreat, guided by our Dharma Advisor (Venerable), offers a rare chance to set aside worldly distractions and dwell in the rhythm of mindful living.

Rather than focusing on abstention alone, the retreat invites participants to directly experience how precepts support the mind in becoming lighter, clearer, and more grounded. Through stillness, guided reflections, and mindful actions, we begin to taste the quiet strength that arises from ethical living.

The group size is kept small to honour each person's journey and allow for closer guidance throughout the day. Whether you are revisiting the precepts or encountering them for the first time, this one-day retreat is a space to reconnect with the foundations of Buddhist practice in a steady and supportive environment.

At Compassion and Wisdom Vihāra, our Dharma classes, meditation sessions, and retreats are thoughtfully structured to offer a nurturing space for deepening one’s understanding of the Buddhist path. Rooted in the Mahāyāna tradition, these sessions are conducted in English to make the teachings accessible to contemporary practitioners in Singapore.

Each class is designed to support personal growth, inner well-being, and mindfulness in daily life. To encourage meaningful learning and quiet reflection, we keep our group sizes intentionally small. This creates a focused and supportive environment where participants can engage deeply with the teachings and receive guidance suited to their pace and needs. Whether you are new to the Dharma or looking to deepen your practice, we offer a welcoming space for learning, reflection, and connection.

To help sustain these offerings, participants are invited to make a small contribution towards the running costs of our classes, practices, and retreats. If you feel inspired to offer additional support, you are most welcome to do so. Your contributions directly support the Vihāra’s continued efforts to provide a safe and supportive environment for spiritual growth.

May your generosity bring wisdom, peace, and happiness to yourself and all beings.
