[NOTICE - 27 SEP] TIGHTENING OF SAFE MANAGEMENT MEASURES (SMM):

According to STB's Safe Management Measures for Tours, tours may proceed as planned with the following measures in place:

1) The capacity of each tour remains at 10.

2) As this tour does not involve indoor activities where masks are not worn, the max. number of pax in a sub-group within each tour group is capped at 2 regardless of vaccination status.

2) Each sub-group shall maintain at least 1m safe distance and no intermingling between different sub-groups at all times.

Besar is big in Malay; its big-ness lies in complexity. Jalan is to walk.

In a city of sharp lines, yellow boxes and clear labels, Jalan Besar is complex, messy and raw. Here, the past overlaps with the present, communities old and new intersect. Jalan Besar presents itself as a place you can make your own, but only if you belong here and perhaps nowhere else; The transient workers, the fringes of society, the sunset trades and disappearing clans –– these communities live in the margins of Singapore. But not in Jalan Besar. Jalan Besar belongs to them.

So we enter as strangers. Artists lead the way, their works scattered across secret spaces and trade shops in Jalan Besar.

Join us on this mini artwalk that grapples with the strangeness of Jalan Besar, this intangible other-ness we may never truly understand. Explore the different ways of approaching, understanding and gazing at Jalan Besar from the outside. Discover the stories that built this refuge for strangers.

Kindly note that this tour is not wheel-chair accessible, and guest are required to climb up flights of stairs.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

According to STB's Safe Management Measures for Tours, tour operators and guides can resume operation with Safe Management Measures.

OH! Open House will be putting in place the following precautionary measures:

1. Each tour is capped at a maximum group size of 10 pax (excluding guide).

2. Participants will be divided into sub-groups of 2 pax each. Each sub-group shall maintain at least 1m safe distance and no intermingling between different sub-groups at all times.

3. To facilitate safe distancing, our guides will be speaking through a transmitter and you will be provided with a receiver. For personal hygiene, you're encouraged to bring your own wired earphone (with standard 3.5mm plug) for the receiver. If you do not have a personal earphone, we will provide you with communal ones which are sanitised.

4. All shared audio devices will be sanitised after each use.

5. There will be a temperature screening and Trace-together only Safe Entry upon registration.

6. Our staff and volunteer guides will undergo regular Antigen Rapid Test (ART) pre-event testing.

We would like to seek your cooperation to exercise social responsibility: stay at home if you’re unwell; practise good personal hygiene, and follow safe distancing measures.

OH’s staff reserves the right to refuse any participants with the aforementioned symptoms or non-compliance with our safety measures.

Terms and Conditions

Ticket Refund/Exchange/Rescheduling Policy

All tickets sold are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for other tour dates and/or timings.

We seek your understanding that we are unable to accommodate any rescheduling requests within 14 days before the date of the event.

Admission Policy

Guests who arrive after the allocated time will not be admitted and re-admission is not allowed. We seek your understanding and co-operation to arrive at the venue on time.

Indemnity

Ticket buyers voluntarily assume all risks and dangers incidental to the event whether occurring prior to, during, or subsequent to the actual event, including any death, personal injury, loss, damage, or liability.

Event Cancellation/Postponement

OH! Open House (OH) reserves the right to cancel any tours due to an insufficient number of participants or due to factors beyond the reasonable control of OH such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, labour strikes, war, civil unrest and disorders, etc.

In the unlikely event of a tour cancellation, OH shall endeavour to notify the Participant at the soonest possible time, especially if the cancellation is due to factors beyond the reasonable control of OH. OH shall therefore attempt to recommend or provide alternatives for your consideration but should you decide not to accept the alternatives, there will be no guarantee of a refund of all monies paid by you to OH.

Data Collection & Privacy Policy

As the organiser, OH Open House (OH) collects your email address and other personal data for contact tracing purposes only. OH complies with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Act (No. 26 of 2012) (“PDPA”) and any other laws relating to privacy and data protection that may apply in your jurisdiction.

OH may only use these personal data for marketing purposes within the scope of your consent.

Photography & Videography (For archival & publicity)

Please note that photographs and videos of guests may be taken for use in our archival and publicity material. By attending the event, you consent to OH to broadcast, publish, license and use any photographs, films, recordings or images of you without compensation.
