Outdoor Learning & Adventure Education Association(OLAE)was formed by members who agree that there is a need to establish industry-wide best practices for safety, operations and training. It is paramount for the industry players to keep pace with the changing outdoor education market and it is our responsibility to help clients and participants to be aware and educated on what constitutes safe and meaningful outdoor education programmes. There exists a considerable breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in the industry and this valuable resource needs to be better exploited.MissionTo represent both the individual practitioner as well as service providers who design and provide outdoor learning and adventure education programs.Strategic CommunicationTo act as a representative body for OLAE members and work with Outdoor Learning and Adventure Education related organisations, relevant government bodies and international organisations on matters pertaining to the industry.Membership ServicesTo provide professional services and benefits to OLAE members in order to support them in their professional development; as well as enabling them to have the accreditation and recognition to promote employment and engagement of their services.Education & OutreachTo conduct joint promotional and public awareness programs to enhance our members’ standing in the education sector. <H2>OLAE Conference 2018</H2>
This year, OLAE will host our inaugural OLAE Conference on 13 & 14 September 2018. With the theme “Are We IN or OUT of Doors?”, we challenge practitioners, service providers and other industry stakeholders to re-examine what outdoor learning and adventure education should ‘feel, look and be like’, especially in light of the National Outdoor Education Master Plan, technological disruption and other challenges affecting the industry.
The conference brings together local practitioners from the fields of academic/research, industry and education to share knowledge, competencies and aspirations that will help shape outdoor learning and adventure education in Singapore.
During the conference, OLAE has the following focus areas:

Aim to have ZERO Waste philosophy - to minimise the use of disposable items such as paper/plastic cutlery and dishware.
<UL>
<LI>Encouraging BYO utensils, pens and notebook</LI>
<LI>Allow participants to choose between electronic or paper version of brochures and conference booklet.</LI>
<LI>Teabreaks will be simple and minimising waste to throw away.</LI>
<LI>Morning and Afternoon Teabreaks ( Halal and Vegetarian) will be provided. </LI>
<LI>For lunch, participants to partake of lunch at their own convenience in the various canteens on campus.</LI>

Open Space Technology - Integrating OST as part of the conference. OST is an interesting facilitation method where participants will get to co-create discussion topics during the conference.

Showcase Local Knowledge - to feature more local practitioners who can share knowledge from the academic/research, industry and education realms.

<H2>Tickets</H2>
OLAE aims to reach out to as diverse attendees from the conference as much as possible. In addition to outreach and education, we also aim to connect more experts in our fields to our potential clients. As such, OLAE will be offering limited FREE Conference Tickets to Schools, our practitioner members and our Organisation Members. 
Please read the type of ticket carefully when you order your tickets :)
At the same time, to minimise misuse of FREE Ticket, we will be imposing a payment of $98/= for any absentees. We understand that there will be unforeseen circumstances, we welcome replacement.
