About this event

What does it mean to be me?

on becoming challenges the constructs, expectations, and norms of gender we’ve been taught, asking: Is this the way it has to be? Is this the way I want to be? Set in the 360imx immersive space, this multisensory installation invites you to journey through a series of intimate moments, told through sight, sound, scent, and movement.

Experience the fluidity and ever-changing nature of identity. Let go of expectations. Embrace discomfort. This piece is for all of us still searching, still questioning, always on becoming.

Created and conceptualised by members of n:ow arts in collaboration with student artists, under the direction of Evangel Wong, and mentored by award-winning multimedia artist Brian Gothong Tan and acclaimed sound artist Syafiq Halid, on becoming is supported by NUS Office of Student Affairs Centre For the Arts third space and NUS Libraries.
