About this event

Based on how things are going, it looks like events aren't going to happen anytime soon. That means no meets for the immediate foreseeable future. Pfttt, thanks COVID.

How does a lifter like yourself scratch the itch to compete? Now you can with our 2nd online powerlifting meet! An online meet gives you a goal to train towards or test what you're capable of and how you match up to other lifters in the comfort of an environment that you're familiar with – the perfect low stress way to introduce yourself to meets.

How to video yourself for the online meet

Squat:

- From the rear

- 45-degree angle (either left or right)

- Hip height

Bench Press:

- From the front

- 45-degree angle (either left or right)

- Shoulder height

Deadlift:

- From the front

- 45-degree angle (either left or right)

- Waist height

Examples of how the lifts should be videoed are shown below.

Bodyweight:

- Video the process of weighing yourself. Start the video before stepping on the scale, showing the scale at 0. If it's an electronic scale, let the scale zero before stepping onto it. Step on and keep recording until your bodyweight is shown. If the numbers on your scale are tiny, please zoom in so that we can see it clearly.

For all lifts:

- Shoot in landscape

- Make sure the whole body and barbell remains in the frame at all times

- Record each attempt separately. Each recording will follow this sequence. Start the video just when you're about to start the lift (we don't need to see you chalking up or getting psyched up for your attempt). After the attempt, walk back to stop the recording on your own. The entire video will be one continuous, uncut video.

- Name the 9 separate lifting video files in this order – Name, Weight Class in kilograms, Age and Age Category (Open/Masters), Lift(Squat/Bench Press/Deadlift), Attempt number, Weight attempted in kilograms.

An example would be - John Tan Cheng Kiat, U75kg, 35/Open, Squat, Attempt 1, 150kgs

For the weighing of your bodyweight video, please name the file - Name, Weight Class and Bodyweight in kilograms.

An example would be - John Tan Cheng Kiat, U75/74.5kg

- Calibrated plates are highly recommended but not compulsory.

- Lifting singlets are highly recommended but not compulsory. If you do not own a lifting singlet, form-fitting clothes are preferred as they help with judging. Avoid loose fitting, baggy clothes.

You'll have from 0000 on the 14th of June '21 till 2359 on the 20th of June '21 to attempt and submit your lifts. Submission of lifts are to be emailed to onlinepowerliftingmeet@hygieia.com.sg and has to be sent before 12am, 21st of June '20. Any submissions received thereafter will be not be entertained.

If your files are too big for your email provider to attach and send, you can consider using https://wetransfer.com/ and send them to onlinepowerliftingmeet@hygieia.com.sg

To ensure that everyone only attempts the lifts from the 14th of June '21 onwards, a password will be sent to all lifters via the email address used to register for the meet on the 13th of June '21 at 2359. This password would have to be displayed on all attempts and during weighing.

Registration closes on the 13th of June '21 at 1800.

Videos not conforming to the guidelines will be disqualified.
