My Community Festival is a ground-up initiative showcasing Singapore’s best kept secrets and community stories through immersive tours, tastings and other cultural and heritage experiences.4 Things To Know About The FestivalIt is curated in collaboration with heritage practitioners, business owners, legacy brands as well as a number of religious and cultural institutions.It builds upon the demand for culinary travel, cultural exploration and activity-based travel experiences - evident from the consumption habits of locals and tourists alike.It aims to connect people from all walks of life through the festival platform in the hopes that they may go on to expand their social networks.The festival has taken on an added dimension as a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It serves as a means in which to re-introduce locals back to the island’s ethnic enclaves and to support local, legacy establishments in a triumphant display of resilience as a community. Let’s come together to celebrate the Singaporean spirit after a challenging 2020.

Ever wondered what goes on inside our power plants, mail processing centre and sugar factory? Find out more about the people and processes behind these restricted walls!About the Distribution CentreSingPost can trace its origins to the time Stamford Raffles stepped foot in Singapore. With ramped up trade came the need for a service to dispatch and receive documents. Today much of Singapore&#x27;s postal services have been successfully modernised. For instance, in 2015, a $45 million integrated sorting machine was rolled out at the Singapore Post Centre to boost the company&#x27;s sorting speed and volume. Details of the Programme<ul><li>Language: English</li><li>Date: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>4 Dec (Fri) 7pm-9pm</li><li>9 Dec (Wed) 7pm-9pm</li><li>10 Dec (Thu) 7pm-9pm</li><li>11 Dec (Fri) 7pm-9pm</li><li>16 Dec (Wed) 7pm-9pm</li><li>17 Dec (Thu) 7pm-9pm</li><li>18 Dec (Fri) 7pm-9pm</li></ul></ul><ul><li>Meeting place: General Post at SingPost Centre (Nearest MRT Station: Paya Lebar)</li><li>Please arrive 15 minutes before the stated meeting time for registration and temperature taking. Our facilitators will be wearing our event t-shirt.</li><li>Parking is available at the SingPost Centre</li><li>Venue is wheelchair accessible.</li><li>The workshop/tour will proceed rain or shine.</li></ul>What to bring?<ul><li>Dress appropriately (i.e. long pants and covered shoes). Strictly no sleeveless attire, shorts/miniskirts or sandals allowed. Avoid wearing loose clothing and accessories.</li><li>Wear a mask.</li><li>Bring along hand sanitisers, an umbrella and a bottle of water</li><li>Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.</li></ul>Who should come?<ul><li>Participants must be 13 years old and above.</li></ul>COVID-19 Safety Precautions<ul><li>All participants must wear a mask.</li><li>All participants should maintain one-metre distance from other participants at all times.</li><li>All participants must complete the Safe Entry, health declaration and temperature taking before the event.</li></ul>Instructions for Participants<ul><li>Participants must abide by the house rules set out by the host (eg. out-of-bound areas, use of toilet). Facilitators will brief participants before the start of the programme.</li><li>In lieu of the recent COVID19, participants will be required to take their temperatures and submit a health declaration form for contact tracing. Please do not attend the event should you feel unwell.</li><li>There will be no refund if you wish to cancel your tickets.</li><li>By agreeing to participate in the activity, participants will be responsible for any injury, loss or damage due to negligence of other actions on his/her part or that of children under his/her charge.</li><li>It is compulsory for a parent/guardian to accompany any child of or under the age of 12 children under his/her charge.</li></ul>For updates:<ul><li>Visit www.mycommunityfestival.sg for updates.</li></ul>
