About this event

We bet that you might have a bottle or two of Tai Hua soy sauce in your kitchen at this very moment - likely of the light and dark sauce varieties. Indeed, these bottles of umami-goodness are a key staple in most Singaporean households especially in Chinese homes. Peel back the layers of Tai Hua’s history and its road to success with our special tour of the facility.

• Everyone is welcome to participate in this exciting tour!

Duration & Meeting Place

• Approximate Duration: 2.0 hours

• Language: English

• Please meet at Lakeside MRT Drop-Off point – Exit A Street Level (a bus will take participants to and fro the factory)

• The tour will proceed rain or shine

What to bring?

• Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably and wear covered shoes. Participants are encouraged to wear bright coloured clothes for safety purposes.

• Bring along a mask, hand sanitiser, insect repellent, EZ-Link card, a bottle of water and an umbrella. Please refrain from wearing loose accessories to the tour.

• If you have earphones with a standard 3.5mm audio jack, please bring them along (for radio guides during the tour).

• Participants are reminded to bring cash if they would like to purchase any items from the factory. Please note that the factory does not accept electronic payment methods.

• Asthmatic individuals are encouraged to bring their inhaler.

What to expect?

• Participants will learn about Tai Hua’s growth from a small cottage industry to one of Singapore’s main soy sauce producers.

• Participants are required to put on a mask at the factory premises.

Other important information

• All participants must be fully vaccinated.

• Please arrive 15 minutes before the tour for registration.

• Event is not wheel-chair friendly.

• Parking is not available at the factory. Kindly park your car near Lakeside MRT or at 517B Jurong West Street 52, Singapore 642517.
