Hooi Yen is an experienced corporate lawyer who has worked with startups for over 20 years. She is the founder of Polaris Law Corporation where her practice focuses on venture capital and investments, shareholders’ agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and employee share incentive schemes. She is also an experienced senior in-house lawyer for technology companies, including a stint as General Counsel (APAC ex-China) of a fintech company with business interests in several Asian countries.

In the last few years, she has enjoyed working with a number of Vietnam startups, and has successfully worked with founders to conclude funding rounds for trail blazing startups including Viec.co (Vietnam’s pioneering on-demand staffing platform), Vietcetera Media (Vietnam’s fastest growing digital media company) and Selly.vn (a leading Vietnamese social commerce platform).

Hooi Yen speaks regularly at seminars and has conducted workshops and legal clinics for accelerators including EduSpaze, Seedstars and the Founders’ Institute.
