Together with a Muslim relationship and intimacy expert, Maktaba Books is hosting a no-holds-barred Q&A and discussion about the first night and couple intimacy with insights from Prophetic sayings, sexual sciences and marital counselling experience.
Sex is still taboo and difficult to talk about as discussions are typically peppered with dirty jokes and vulgarity. Couples need to de-taboo it as they prepare for their marriage life. The session will introduce us to respectable conversations on sex based on sexual science, relationship principles and Islamic values with the ultimate goal of elevating sex beyond the carnal towards the social, emotional and even spiritual connections with your spouse.
Pakcik Chit-Chat session will be a safe space for men to discuss sex in a respectful way and reclaim the topic from the vulgarity that surrounds it today. We invite you to this experience.
About the Expert
Pakcik Osman Sidek wrote the book Sex, Soul and Islam, winner of Wardah Books Readers' Choice 2023 with his wife, Enon Mansor, a social worker and marital counsellor.
In the 90s, Osman taught the Beginner’s Course in Islam and Marriage Preparation Course at The Muslim Converts’ Association of Singapore (MCAS). He had also served as a resource person in sex-related marital counselling with Enon. In 2011, they developed and conducted 2-day sex enrichment workshops, funded by Health Promotion Board (Singapore) with social worker Amran Jamil and Ustaz Mohd Khair Rahmat. Since then, they have been conducting couple intimacy, sexual enrichment and sexual parenting workshops in Singapore and overseas.
Their first book, “Tranquil Hearts - A Guide to Marriage” (co-authored with Fatimah Eunos) was published by MUIS and MCAS in 1989. Their second book, “Sex, Soul and Islam” was published by Claritas Books in 2022.
