In Playback Theatre, audience members are invited to share real moments from their own lives. Actors and musicians then bring these stories to life, creating a theatrical experience that is supportive, spontaneous and deeply human.
From May to October 2025, Playback Theatre companies from around the world are invited by the Centre for Playback Theatre to create and perform shows in their local communities under the shared theme - “Stories That Shaped Us”. These performances are part of the official 50 Years' Celebration of Playback Theatre that aim to honour collective legacy by gathering voices from every region of the world.
After a memorable experience in South Africa in Dec 2023, more members of iMi Playback, Long Time No See and 3 Cups of Kopi have come together to strengthen intergroup collaborations and friendships while working and learning together in sunny Singapore. Come join us at Kopi Kakis v2.0!
Remember the events, places and people that made you who you are? We invite you to listen to and view them through Playback Theatre’s unique blend of metaphor, movement, and music. Together, we’ll co-create an evening of listening, meaning and connection.
