Pop Up Design School: Critical of/for What?

As part of Singapore Design Week 2025, the Pop Up Design School: Critical of/for What? invites design students/recent grads to radically rethink and creatively "hack" the teaching of theory in design. It challenges the traditional separation of theory and practice in design education, encouraging students to explore and integrate them into their creative work. Through collaborative workshops and discussions, participants will delve into the evolving role of theory as well as critical thinking and making within design. The event will culminate in a collection of student-driven lesson ideas and provocations for the future of design education, centering student voices in shaping the future of design education and practice. Participants would need to bring an example of a course outline/design brief that relates to theory and design, as a point of reference to "hack" during the workshop.
